Maintaining a Perfect Pucker
Let's face it, we all want a perfectly kissable pucker. Whether we wear red for the drama, or a soft, subtle nude, nothing will look good on our lips if we don't take care of it. For that we need to constantly moisturize. It's just like any other part of your body. Do you not moisturize your face and body on a regular basis?
For my lips I use multiple items. I know, I really should be using one, because isn't it a waste to have more? In an ideal world where one product could do everything, yes, I would have just one! But here, I use three for lip maintenance.
The one I use most regularly is Burt's Bees Lifeguard's Choice lip balm. This has a nice peppermint taste (as opposed to the typical honey taste of Burt's Bees products that I am not a fan of). The only problem is that it is white. Which means your lips will look white, or more likely purple-ish. Like you're suffering from hypothermia. I typically put this on at night before bed to help rejuvenate, and refresh my lips. The other reason this product is so great? It's perfect for sun exposure. (Thus the name: Lifeguard's Choice.)
Now, because of the nature of Lifeguard's Choice (and the fact that it makes you look as though you're freezing to death), I also wear tinted lip balms on a regular basis. One of the two I wear is Burt's Bee's Tinted Lip Balm in Honeysuckle for the perfect nude tint. Like the last Burt's Bees products, this one doesn't have the honey taste that I despise. And it is so smooth. I love it already, and I've only been using it for about a month.
The last lip balm on my starting rotation? Neutrogena's Revitalizing Lip Balm. Right now I have it in Healthy Blush, but I think that may be a bit too pink for me. My lips have such a strong, pink undertone that whenever I wear lipstick, gloss, balm, etc. with any pink tint, my lips will end up looking like I doused them in neon pink. It's very frustrating because I love a soft pink lip. Anyway. . . This lip balm is supposed to help with restoring lips to make them appear fuller, and healthier. (And not temporarily, but permanently.) Now I haven't been using this long enough to assert their claims, but I have liked the little bit of color I get with the balm, and it does seem to be helping my lips stay nicely moisturized.
So. . . What do you all use? Any suggestions? Does anyone out there use something old fashioned like vaseline? Or do you use something extremely fancy, and expensive? Let's share!
Let's Get Started!
It's time to kick this off! So let's start with the obvious. . . What is the point of this blog?
If there is anyone out there like me, then I believe you will find this blog useful. I am an incredible "girly" girl if you will. But because of this personality trait, I have a compulsion. I will buy, try, and look for all new techniques, tools, and tips I can find out there. This usually leads to me having way too much of some things, buying others, and never using them, and sometimes having no clue how to use another portion.
So to rectify this issue, I figured I can share the tips, tools, and techniques that I love or hate in hopes that I can same someone else time, energy, and most importantly money! In turn, I want everyone to share what they think as we discuss products, and they best way to get results.
I'm looking forward to sharing!
